UDIT RAJ TO INAUGURATE KERALA BUDDHIST
CONVENTION

The modern day Ambedkar and leader of the Dalits, Udit Raj will inaugurate the Buddhist Conference in Kerala that is to take place on the 9th and 10th of August 2003.

The Buddhist resurgence in Kerala has send shock waves in the minds of the Hindutva forces. This is because of the Hindutva project of 'Hinduising and communalising' the Dalits and thereby using them as foot soldiers of Hindutva have been effectively derailed by the neo-Buddhist movement among the Dalits led by Udit Raj and the Lord Buddha Universal Society.

The Kerala Buddhists have send a very strong message by announcing that they will launch a 'revolutionary struggle' to 'liberate and reclaim' the ancient Buddhists viharas of Sabarimala and Kodungalloor which had been annexed by the Hindus in the past. These historic Buddhist sites have been converted to leading Hindu pilgrimage centres. However ,their Buddhist influences still remain.

The Buddhists have also clarified that what needs to be built at Ram Janmabhoomi is neither a temple or a
mosque but a Buddhist vihara which it was. A case is also pending for the purpose.
