noise outside. Curious, he went outside and flashed the torch
he was carrying. To his surprise, he found a group of men
hiding next to the entrance. On seeing him, one of them swung
a wooden club at his head. Uphar deflected the blow with his
arm. Another one of the men then hit him on the head with
a rock, while two others beat him up with clubs. Uphar then
retracted his steps into the ashram. The men pursued him,
but seeing more people inside than usual, they immediately
turned and fled. The inmates of the mutta gave chase but could
not apprehend the culprits. They then informed the police,

mutta by the police and were identified by Uphar.
