The following were the activities of the Christian Council for the year ended 31st December 2001.

April, 17, 2000: The council conducted seminar on "Nationalism and Caste Identity" at Delhi.

16th June, 2000: Chennai. Council's National Executive meeting held at Breeze hotel. Dr. Joseph D 'Souza, Mr. John Dayal, Rev. G. Mohan, Rev. G.Samuel Mr. David Simeon Dy. Chairman of Karnataka Legislative Council and Dr. A Vijaya Kumar participated. Discussed important issues and took decisions to prevent increasing atrocities on Christians across the country.

17th June 2000 Hyderabad: AICC conducted hunger strike at Indira Park, Hyderabad, protesting against the bomb blasts in Christian meetings and increased atrocities on Christians and Dalits.

July, 8th 2000: Hyderabad. Black Day was observed in memory of martyrs and also to protest against the hate and violence conspiracy against Christians .

July 8th 2000: National Solidarity Day was observed in Bangalore, Chennai and Thiruvanathapuram. The same was observed on 9th in Hyderabad. Prayers were held in various churches for peace and communal harmony.

July 8th 2000. Chennai. Tamil Nadu Christians organised Fasting And Prayer Day at Anna Nagar,Chennai. Rev. Ezra Sargunam inaugurated the meeting and Rt.Rev Lawrence Pious, Mylapore, led the meeting.

August 18 -20 , 2000 : Millenium Church Leaders Meeting held at Hyderabad

1. Communal Harmony for nation building
2. Role of the church during persecution.

Archbishop Vincent Concessao, Mr. John Dayal. Mr. Alfred IPS.
Rev. Varuruchi Dalvai, Dr. Richard Howell and other Christian leaders.

Janary 28 2001: The council began relief operations in worst affected Districts in earthquake hit Gujarat

March 2001 : The council donated Rs. One crore worth of medicines and medical equipment for Gujarat earthquake relief. The medicines and medical equipment was handed over to Dr. Makwana, Director & Superintendent of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, in the presence of Mr. Himmatsingh Patel, Mayor,- Ahmedabad City.

17th March : Thiruvalla : AICC National executive council leaders met in Thiruvalla. The leaders who participated included Dr. Joseph D'Souza, Dr. John Dayal, Dr. Joshua Mar Ignatious, Dr. Mar Aprem and other senior leaders. Important matters were discussed and press statement issued demanding steps to restore confidence and security among the minorities. Scandals in power and defense sector also discussed.

March 30th : The council ruled out any dialogue between Christian leaders and RSS or any other outfits of sangh parivar. Also decried the disruptive call of RSS chief for swadeshi church.

September 2001: The council held National Christian Leaders Meeting at Hyderabad from 5-8 September, 2001, to discuss various issues. Nearly 750 delegates from across the country participated in this important and crucial conference.

7th September 2001: The council and its membership, strengthened by their resolve, rededicated themselves to solidarity with the Dalits.

30th October 2001: Orissa chapter of AICC was launched. The leaders met on 29th October night and unanimously agreed to have a balanced body.

11th & 17th November , 2001: Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Christian leaders' meeting was held to discuss the proposed dharna on 30th November.

18th November, 2001,: Ahmedabad, Gujarat Chapter conducted VBS at Salvation Army Church and distributed prizes to Children

November, 16-18 2001: Kolakata. Bangiya Kristiya Pariseba arranged Eastern India Christian Leaders conference on behalf of the council. Mr. Sam Paul, Secy. Public Affairs, attended the meeting. Mr. Herod Mullick gave the Keynot address.

11th November, 2001: Ahmedabad Christian leaders meeting was held at Roman Catholic Church, Vatva, to encourage them and seek their support. Another leaders' meeting was held on 17th November to discuss the proposed dharna on 30th November. .

30th November, 2001: Ahmedabd. The council organised dharna at Sardar Baug Chowrasta, Opp. Roopalee Cinema. This dharna was intended to register protest against atrocities on tribals, dalits, Muslims and Christians. Mr. Sam Paul Secy. Public Affairs, and Mr. Samson C. Christian took part in the dharna.

Mid December, 2001: Nagpur. Two-day meeting was held at Nagpur. Dr. John Dayal, Rev. G. Samuel, Rev. P.P. Johnson Dr.Joab Mohallik and Mr.Sam Paul were present. Leaders of National Council of Churches in India also took part in the meeting. The meeting was interesting and much of the agenda looked into by the council.

23rd December, 2001: Hyderabad. Council leaders had Christmas gathering with dalit-bahujan leaders. Around 23 leaders participated and were glad to remember our Lord.
